Be Filled With The Holy Spirit

Being filled with the Holy Spirit is talked about in the Bible and is referred to as the baptism with the Holy Spirit. It is one of three baptisms that God has prepared for us as his family. God wants us to take our next step toward a deeper walk with him. The first baptism is when we make Jesus the Lord of our life and it is referred to as the baptism into the Body of Christ. The second baptism is water baptism and it signifies an outward sign of a inward decision to follow Jesus. The third baptism is the baptism with the Holy Spirit and it is an immersion in the person of the Holy Spirit that fills us with power so that we do the work has assigned us to do. Spiritual Gifts

God is a good heavenly Father that gives us many gifts. The gift of salvation is the greatest gift that He has given us. The gift of the Holy Spirit is for empowerment to fulfill our assignment. First, we should consider are we being foolish and asking God to fix it. Secondly, we cannot think that if we simply try to be perfect then God will automatically always be there. If we think that, then we are believing the lies that "Gods grace will save me no matter what" or "it's my works that save me." Let us consider what Jesus said, “In this world, you will have trouble but take heart, I have overcome the world”.  The good news is that God will always be with us. It's by His grace: this is the greatest gift of all!

Jesus asked questions. God doesn’t expect us to not ask questions! The internet has created an inquisitive society. People are looking for truth, God created within us a vacuum for truth. We live in a society of various social, economical, and world issues. There is real need and real hurt. The question is what is our response? How do we respond to this? How do we respond to social issues?

Resurrecting

We celebrate the resurrecting power of God today. Easter is all about Jesus resurrecting us. Jesus came to bring life to what was dead. We were spiritually dead and lost, but then Jesus came to bring us back to life. God gave Jesus to die in our place so that we could be raised to life. Jesus has come so that we can have an abundant life. A life full of the resurrecting power of God. Today is resurrection Sunday. Are you resurrected? Are you experiencing the resurrected power of God everyday?

What if the cross had never happened? What if Jesus had chosen the “shadow mission”? At the end of His life on earth, Jesus was offered a plan that was close to the original but would have left us destined for hell for all eternity. Find out how important it was that Jesus made the right choice.

It's My Pleasure To Serve You

We were made to serve! When we serve one another we are fulfilling God's design for His church. We become bigger when we take our eyes off of ourselves and look at Jesus and begin to serve like He served. Serving moves us out of our comfort zone and takes us into the deep water. How willing are we to do something for someone that does not have the ability to repay us? When was the last time that we did this? Listen to this message and be inspired to serve!

Community Includes Accountability

God asked Cain where was his brother. Cain said "I am not my brothers keeper". Cain was basically saying stay out my business God. The Father God was holding Cain accountable. Accountability is important in the We Church. God didn’t call us to live on an island to ourselves. Each will give an account of himself to God. The body is accountable to itself. Are you accountable to anyone besides yourself? What does accountability look like? Do you have some you can trust, that your accountable to? Is there someone mentoring you?

 

 

You're Touching Me

It's not about me - its about WE. So often we know who we are in Christ, but we never find out who we are in the body. This requires effort, its not automatic. We are all in the body of Christ together. We must realize that the church hurts when one of the members hurts. If one part of the body is in pain, the whole body in pain! Just like when you're hurting physically and your body must put forth effort to get better, we the church must put forth effort to get better.
 

 

WE Is Bigger Than ME

The church exists because of Jesus. And the mission of the church is to build up His body to do the work of the ministry. We could say that the body of Christ is made up of people and the work of the ministry is all about serving. People constantly growing in order to serve. The New testament paints 4 pictures of the church; We are a building, We are a body, We are a flock and We are a family. Each one of these pictures are reflection of Jesus loving and serving others. God created us to be a part of something way bigger than ourselves.

Do you SEE PEOPLE like Jesus sees people?...Lifeway Church does... This is the Sunday where we take a look at what we looked at last year and what we plan to look at this year. First Temple

Learning to put God first in our lives will even affect our bodies. When we totally surrender to Him, He empowers us to say "no" to those desires that try to control us. The struggles with addiction that you are facing at this moment can be overcome by doing what the Bible says in Romans 12:1-2.

First Talent

Put God first, that is your responsibility. We are left with a choice, do we choose my way or His way. We must decide how we are going to use what God has given to us. Just because we give our life to Jesus doesn’t mean we wake up tomorrow and life is rosy. It takes time, we have to learn to put him first. Everything is competing for our time. Here are the top three time thieves – Internet, TV, busy schedules.

God First

Significant change is the result of apply the word to our lives. There is something built into us that makes us want to change. They have done studies that the #1 thing people want to change is their body. The important thing is that we want to change and can change. There is a natural passion that people have. Is there a spiritual passion in your life? What could your life look like if you passionately pursue God? Think about what your life could look like if you put God first.

Our Operating System

Our "Operating System" is the code that we choose to live by. And at Lifeway we choose to operate by the "code" so that we minister to the family of Lifeway and the community around us in the very same way that Jesus does! We download this OS and wholeheartly agree to the "terms and conditions"!! This code influences everything that we do.

Priority Is Number One

God's top 10 is a series of messages based on the 10 commandments. God gave us a list of principles within the 10 commandments that will enhance our relationship with Him and with others. The first commandment states that "You will have no other gods before Me..." this speaks to the principle of priority. Putting God first in our life must be our first priority. How do you do that?
